Sierra Madre, California, is known as the Village of the Foothills due to its small town charm and location nestled against the Los Angeles National Forest. We are also known as Wisteria City. We are famous for our Guinness World Book Record largest blossoming plant, our historic Chinese wisteria vine, which was planted in 1894, covers over an acre, weighs 250 tons, and produces over one half million blossoms each spring. We have been recognized as an All American City from the National Civic League for our level of community involvement.
